I have spent most of my life in Cornwall, deeply influenced by the shifting light, seasons, and natural beauty. Whilst I work in many mediums, I am especially drawn to the fluid nature of watercolor. Water itself is a powerful force – unpredictable, transparent, and full of movement – qualities that echo in my approach to painting and make water-activated mediums especially compelling to me. My work often reflects an emotional response to the landscapes, colours and textures around me, capturing both their quiet familiarity and fleeting intensity. Through deep observation, I aim to convey a sense of connection, softness, and depth that invites contemplation. Alongside my practice, I teach local watercolor workshops, helping others discover the joy of creativity. I believe painting is not just an artistic pursuit but a pathway to well-being, mindfulness, and inner healing—an experience I hope to share through both my work and teaching. www.instagram.com/cathyeastmentart/
