After training as a graphic designer and working in advertising for three years, Martin turned to teaching art and design in Bristol secondary schools and moved to Bude in 2003. Martin has relished the chance of experimenting with his own work, especially watercolours. Martin has been a member of the CWS since 2005 and has gained a lot from interaction with other water colourists.
